The Coat

"The Coat" is probably the image that has been with me the longest, over 30 years. The idea was precipitated by a chance encounter while walking down a cold, dark and windy street. Suddenly, I perceived a dark "shadow" passing to my left. I did not focus on the shadow and I am not even sure it was a man. In that instant, "The Coat" was born and it never changed. To me, it was a man in preparation for a forthcoming storm, trudging home with a few essentials to see him through. At the time, he had with him his best friend, each keeping the other warm.
